A Guide to All Things Social
Since 1974 the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota has provided hope and opportunity to thousands of young people. The BGCMN Summer Benefit is more than a one-night event — it’s an event to celebrate everything you love about the Boys & Girls Club of Central Minnesota! Thank you for showing your BGCMN pride and helping spread the word! This document represents the instructions for how to use and share the BGCMN’s social content. Our goal is to provide content that is interactive, engaging and fun, and that can easily be shared by our sponsors!
STEP 1: CONNECT WITH US!
Go to our social media sites and connect with us! “Like” the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota’s Facebook page, follow the Twitter and Instagram pages. We’ll post content that you can share with your audiences to raise awareness and get your network engaged.
TIP: To follow us as YOUR business page click the ellipses button (next to “Message”) and select “Like as Your Page” from the drop down menu. This will pop-up a dialog box. Select your page from the drop down list and click “save.”
STEP 2: GET ACTIVE!
Shout out to attendees, participants and other sponsors! Create activity! The more the merrier!
You are already a fan of the Boys & Girls Club of Central Minnesota. Use social media to show your support. Promote your ties to the Club, share updates, posts and please share your excitement for our event!
Here are some example posts to get your started (attach graphics to posts as needed). Please use the hashtags #BGCMN2018 #BestEventEver.

TIP: To share a Facebook post, choose the post you want to share. At the bottom of the post, select the link that says “Share.” This will take you to a pop up dialog box. Click the button that says “Share to a page”— this will give you a pop up box. Select “On a Page You Manage.” Write some text that you would like to appear with the image on your Facebook page. Make sure to “Tag” Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota. To tag us, type the @ symbol and then begin typing Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota (with no space between @ and Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota). As you type, a drop down list of tag options will appear — select Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota from that list. If you tagged correctly, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota will appear as a blue link in your text. Finish typing your post content. Once the post has the text and tags that you want, click “Share Image” at the bottom of the box. This will make the image, with your text, appear on your page’s Facebook page timeline.
TIP: If you see a tweet that @BGCMN has published that you would like to share with your followers you can retweet it. Select the Tweet and click the “Retweet” button
