The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota held its annual local Fine Arts Exhibit from January 16 – 22, 2017 at Crossroads Shopping Center outside the entrace to JCPenney and Children’s Place. This Boys & Girls Club is one more than 4,000 Clubs across the country joining in a search to identify talented young artists. The competition is part of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s (BGCA) National Fine Arts Exhibit program.
BGCA’s National Fine Arts Exhibit program is a comprehensive initiative promoting young people’s creativity and encouraging artistic skills and cultural enrichment. As a participant in the National Fine Arts Exhibit program, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota held its local exhibit with 226 entries in the categories of monochromatic drawing, multi-colored drawing, watercolor, pastel, oil/acrylic, mixed media and collage and group project. The awards ceremony took place on January 19th and recognized 80 youth who were present to receive a certificate.
Twenty-three selected pieces of Central Minnesota’s artwork will be screened at the regional level in Michigan. From regionals, a limited number will be sent to BGCA’s Atlanta headquarters for judging at the national level.
