Gary and Pat Webber, together with their sons, Stuart and Grant and Grant’s wife Brittnie, have made a contribution of $1,000.00 in memory of their good friend, Paul Opatz. This gift was given in honor of Paul’s generous spirit and his passion for helping those in need in our community.
Paul was known for his generosity, warmth and humor. “He was one of the good guys,” said Pat Webber warmly of Paul.
He radiated happiness and optimism, and his unfailing good cheer enriched the lives of many. Paul had a tremendous passion for addressing food security, mental health and housing – he and his family have devoted their lives to community service. Paul spent his career as a parole officer helping others transition back into society. Outside of work, he volunteered countless hours working at the food shelf, reading to children and singing for residents at nursing homes.
For more than 30 years, the Webber family has been deeply rooted in the mission of the Boys & Girls Club: to do whatever it takes to empower all youth to reach their full potential. Together, they determined to make this gift to the Boys & Girls Club to help Paul’s legacy of generosity live on. Funds will go toward providing a safe, positive place for youth after school, with daily nutritious meals and homework help and tutoring.
“We think Paul would be exceptionally pleased to know the Boys & Girls Club continues to greatly enrich the lives of families in our community,” said Pat and Gary on behalf of the Webber family.
