Please join the board and staff of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota in congratulating the Little Falls Cascades Esports team, including Owen S., A’Rianna F., Rhylee O., and Obi W., on their impressive 3rd place finish in the NASEF Farmcraft®: Land Demand global competition (Junior Division)! Competing against youth teams from around the world, this talented group showcased creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills on an international stage.
NASEF Farmcraft® is a global outreach and educational program that uses the popular game Minecraft to help students better understand real-world agricultural challenges, including land use, sustainability, and food systems. The program can be integrated into classroom curriculum or offered through afterschool programs for youth ages 8–18.
This year marked Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota’s first time participating in the NASEF Farmcraft competition as part of the Club’s Esports programming. The Little Falls Boys & Girls Club was invited to pilot the organization’s participation to help staff and youth learn more about this innovative program.
Farmcraft is just one of a number of activities provided by the Boys & Girls Club in our Esports lounge. Esports provides a safe, supervised space where youth and teens can build teamwork, strategic thinking, and communication skills through competitive and recreational play. It also creates an inclusive environment where young people can connect with peers, discover new interests, and develop confidence in a setting that feels relevant and exciting to them.
As recognition for their hard work and achievement, the Little Falls Cascades will share a $100 gift card.
While total participation numbers for this year’s competition are not yet available, last year’s event included approximately 12,000 participants, representing an estimated 3,000–4,000 teams worldwide, with up to four youth per team—making this accomplishment even more notable.
