Julianne Williams Fund supports SMART Girls with $8,000 grant

Special thanks to Julianne Willams Fund of CMCF for awarding Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota with an $8,000 grant to support the SMART Girls program for the 2024 calendar year.

SMART Girls is a small-group health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls. Through dynamic sessions, highly participatory activities, field trips and mentoring opportunities with adult women, Club girls explore their own and societal attitudes and values as they build skills for eating right, staying fit, getting good health care and developing positive relationships with peers and adults.

Funding from Julianne Williams Fund will support the staff time of our Life & Workforce Readiness Coordinators and Youth Development Professionals, who will deliver the SMART Girls curriculum at the Clubs and KIDSTOP sites.

“We are thankful for this grant from the Julianne Williams Fund, which helps us empower young girls to build their self-esteem in each development stage so they can become successful women in our community,” said Director of Clubs Christine Kustelski.
