St. Cloud, MN – Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota is thrilled to announce that one of our very own Club youth has been selected as a member of the inaugural National Youth Advisory Council (NYAC) for Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA).
After a nationwide search that saw nearly 90 highly competitive applications, Brook’Lynn H. was chosen as one of only 12 exceptional young leaders across the country to serve on this prestigious national council for the 2025–2026 school year.
As a National Youth Advisory Council member, Brook’Lynn will collaborate directly with BGCA staff and leadership to ensure youth voices are central to the organization’s strategies, programming, and decision-making. From August 2025 through May 2026, she will contribute her insights through monthly virtual meetings, national program input, and peer engagement, representing the perspectives of thousands of youth across local Clubs and Youth Centers nationwide.
This exciting journey begins with an in-person kick-off event at BGCA Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, on August 1–2, 2025, where council members will connect with senior leadership, participate in training, and help shape the future branding and marketing strategy of the National Youth Advisory Council.
“We are incredibly proud of Brook’Lynn for being selected for this important role,” said Mary Swingle, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota. “This honor is a testament to her leadership, passion, and dedication to uplifting peers and improving Club experiences for youth everywhere.”
As a voice for youth across the country, Brook’Lynn will help Boys & Girls Clubs of America develop tools and resources that reflect the real needs and aspirations of young people today.
Congratulations again to Brook’Lynn on this outstanding national recognition! We are very proud of her and we can’t wait to see the impact she will make!
