Boys & Girls Club welcomes our newest team member: John Sowada
John worked in the private industry at Leighton Enterprises for 38 years in various roles, including CFO. After nearly 4 decades, John said he was ready for a change. He was presented with the opportunity to apply for the CFO position at the Boys & Girls Club, which appealed to him based on the organization’s purpose to help youth in our community.
“I am excited to join the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota as their CFO,” said John. “I’m a part of a great team of leaders, and it feels good to know that I play a part in the mission to empower youth to reach their full potential.”
John grew up in Central Minnesota and lives in St. Cloud with his wife Trude and their dog, Shadow. John and Trude have seven adult children living around the country, and they are looking forward to welcoming their first grandchild in February. John boasts that he has officially received his certificate as a “trained grandparent.”
