Boys & Girls Club provides meals this summer through SFSP

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota is committed to ensuring our community’s youth have the nutrition they need for healthy development when school is not in session during the summer months.

This is why the Eastside, Roosevelt, Southside Boys & Girls Clubs will be distributing Grab & Go Meals (breakfast and lunch) on Monday and Thursday. Parents/children will be able to pick up the Grab & Go meal bags at the Clubs.

Starting June 7th and ending August 27th, the Eastside Boys & Girls Club will be distributing breakfast and lunch. Monday’s distribution will be meals for Monday -Wednesday and Thursday’s distribution will be meals for Thursday – Sunday. The distribution time on these days will be 4:30-5:30 p.m., to all youth enrolled in the program.

Starting June 2nd and ending August 27th, the Roosevelt & Southside Boys & Girls Clubs will be distributing breakfast and lunch. Monday’s distribution will be meals for Monday – Wednesday and Thursday’s distribution will be meals for Thursday – Sunday. The distribution time on these days will be 4:30-5:30 p.m., to all youth enrolled in the program.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota’s KIDSTOP programs at Madison, Westwood, Kennedy, Clearview, Mississippi Heights, Talahi, Pleasantview, and Oak Hill are participating in the National Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) facilitated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Starting June 2nd and ending August 27th at Boys & Girls Club’s Madison KIDSTOP site, a breakfast will be served from 9:00 – 9:30 a.m. and a snack will be served from 3:15 – 3:45 p.m., Monday – Friday, to all youth enrolled in the program.

Starting June 2nd and ending August 27th at Boys & Girls Club’s Oak Hill KIDSTOP site, a breakfast will be served from 9:30 – 10:00 a.m. and a snack will be served from 3:15 – 3:45 p.m., Monday – Friday, to all youth enrolled in the program.

Starting June 2nd and ending August 27th at Boys & Girls Club’s Kennedy KIDSTOP site, a breakfast will be served from 9:30 – 10:00 a.m. and a snack will be served from 3:00 – 3:30 p.m., Monday – Friday, to all youth enrolled in the program.

Starting June 2nd and ending August 27 at Boys & Girls Club’s Talahi KIDSTOP site, a breakfast will be served from 9:15 – 9:45 a.m. and a snack will be served from 3:15 – 3:45 p.m., Monday – Friday, to all youth enrolled in the program.

Starting June 2nd and ending August 27th at Boys & Girls Club’s Westwood & Clearview KIDSTOP sites, a breakfast will be served from 9:00 – 9:30 a.m. and a snack will be served from 3:00 – 3:30 p.m., Monday – Friday, to all youth enrolled in the program.

Starting June 7th and ending August 27th at Boys & Girls Club’s Mississippi Heights KIDSTOP site, a breakfast will be served from 8:45 – 9:15 a.m. and a snack will be served from 3:00 – 3:30 p.m., Monday – Friday, to all youth enrolled in the program.

Starting June 7th and ending August 27th at Boys & Girls Club’s Pleasantview KIDSTOP site, a breakfast will be served from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. and a snack will be served from 3:15 – 3:45 p.m., Monday – Friday, to all youth enrolled in the program.

“With the help of the SFSP, Clubs are able to set a good example of healthy eating habits for our members,” said Director of Clubs Christine Kustelski.
In addition to eating well and learning healthy habits, Clubs & KIDSTOP sites offer a variety of age-appropriate activities to keep children active during the summer months. Members can get involved in fine arts, cooking club, sports clubs, drama, social recreation activities and games, and more.

Roosevelt, Southside and Eastside Boys & Girls Club summer programming hours are Monday through Friday, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Boys & Girls Club’s KIDSTOP sites are open from 6:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
