The SFSP requires participating organizations to provide well-rounded menus, with each meal including one serving each of: milk, meat or meat alternative, grains/breads, fruits, and vegetables. The program is also a learning experience for club members.

“With the help of the SFSP, Clubs are able to set a good example of healthy eating habits for our members,” said the Southside Boys & Girls Club Unit Director Christine Kustelski.

In addition to eating well and learning healthy habits, Clubs & KIDSTOP sites offer a variety of age-appropriate activities to keep children active during the summer months. Members can get involved in fine arts, cooking, sports clubs, drama and more. There are also many field trips planned like fishing, water parks and carnivals.
