Boys & Girls Club Members Participate in Disc Golf Field Trip with UPlay

Boys & Girls Club members from multiple sites, including Clearview KIDSTOP, attended a field trip to the Preserve Disc Golf course this week. Youth were coached on how to play disc golf by professional disc golfers from UPlay Disc Golf.

UPlay is a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching and promoting disc golf education for all levels. They teach youth of all ages the fundamentals of disc golf (driving, putting, footwork, and the fun of the game). Six touring pros, Ella Hanson, Paige Pierce, Cynthia Ricciotti, Luke Humphries, Raven Klien, and Conor O’Reilly, spent the morning coaching the youth. The pros showed youth how to properly putt in different scenarios and how to throw a disc at the driving range. Each member walked away with an autographed disc and a mini marker.

“We are so grateful to UPlay for providing this field trip for our youth,” said Alex Girodat, Clearview KIDSTOP site manager. “These professionals exposed our members to a new sport that they can potentially enjoy throughout their lives. This is a great way to get kids outside, enjoying nature and staying active.”

This field trip was one of the many great activities that took place throughout Boys & Girls Club Week.
