Brady is stepping onto the dance floor for a cause close to his heart – representing the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota and rallying support for the Club’s impactful SMART Girls program.
SMART Girls is a small-group health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls. Through dynamic sessions, highly participatory activities, field trips and mentoring opportunities with adult women, Club girls explore their own and societal attitudes and values as they build skills for eating right, staying fit, getting good health care and developing positive relationships with peers and adults.
Brady has seen the positive impact SMART Girls has had on the youth since he joined the organization. “SMART Girls helps tween and teen girls develop healthy relationships, learn about good nutrition and lead healthy lifestyles.”
With his background in ballroom dance during college and the support of his professional dance partner, Rachel Trout, Brady is poised to dazzle the audience at Dancing With Our Stars. Practices are underway at the Eastside Club’s dance studio as DeGagne and Trout refine their routines for the big night.
Here’s How The Contest Works
The winner is going to be based upon their score from the judges as well as how many dollars they raise for their charity: 40% on judges score and 60% on dollars raised. All the dollars raised will go directly to the organization.
1st Place – $15,000
2nd Place – $10,000
3rd Place – $5,000
4th-6th Place – $3,000
Fundraising has started and will continue up until the event. There will be opportunities to donate to the dancer/charity of your choice the night of the event. All dollars will be counted and the winner will be announced at the end of the evening.
