Science Stuff with Angel: Fireworks in a Jar!

In this video, you’ll learn about mixtures and solutions and create your own fireworks in a jar!

Everything around you that maintains its form is a mixture.

Grab a few cups of water and add some spices from your kitchen.

Examples: Salt, sugar, basil, pepper, baking powder, food coloring.

Which ones make a solution and which ones make a mixture? Then try again with some more solid things.  Try cereal, pieces of fruit, a small piece of bread.  Do any of these turn into solutions? Is there something you think you could do to turn the mixture into a solution? Such as stirring it or heating it?
