On Monday, April 17th, Club staff and kids gathered a St. Club Subaru to accept a check for $51,423.00.

Through St. Cloud Subaru’s “Share the Love” event, the dealership donated $250 from each new car sold between mid-November 2016 through January 1, 2017. The St. Cloud dealership collected $10,000.00 through this program locally, and Subaru of America provided a $41,423.00 match.

This is the third year in a row St. Cloud Subaru has donated its “Share the Love” proceeds to the Boys & Girls Club. In total, St. Cloud Subaru has donated nearly $120,000.00.

St. Cloub Subaru CEO Scott Bement says the dealership loves to give back to the community and it’s great to see the money put to good use each year.

“It’s really neat to see what the Boys & Girls Club does with this money every year. It’s not a job for them. They really care about every one of these kids. If feels good for us to know that this money is going to them.”

Boys & Girls Club’s Executive Director Mark Sakry reported that the gift will support the organzation’s meal program, which has grown by 10 percent in the past year. In 2016, the Club served a record 110,000 meals to kids in need at the three Club facilities and qualifying KIDSTOP sites (during summer months).

“We are eternally grateful for St. Cloud Subaru’s support of the Boys & Girls Club,” said Sakry. “This funding will help provide basic needs for the young people of this community.”

St. Cloud Subaru received the Larry Haws Champion of Youth Humanitarian Award in 2016 for stepping up to help the Boys & Girls Club through the Share the Love event.
