Life & Workforce Readiness Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Responsible for assisting in the planning and execution of a comprehensive Workforce Readiness program for a designated Club, with an emphasis on middle school and high school programming.

STARTING WAGE: $18.85 per hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of positive youth development:
    • promote and encourage program participation
    • will use positive youth development techniques
    • provide guidance and role modeling to members
    • participate in programs interacting with youth
  2. Serve as an adult mentor to all Club youth.
  3. Serve as a career mentor to Club youth, providing individual and small group support to prepare them for employment and career development opportunities.
  4. Work closely with Club leadership to ensure success of the Club’s workforce readiness programs.
  5. Assist with member recruitment initiatives to increase participation in the Club’s workforce readiness programs.
  6. Facilitate small-group programs/activities for middle school and high school members.
  7. Provide individual guidance to members about post-secondary education and career opportunities.
  8. Develop and maintain strong community partnerships.
  9. Plan and coordinate off-site workforce readiness experiences for participants at a variety of workplaces.
  10. Assist in the planning and coordination of workforce readiness community events.
  11. Assist with establishing program objectives and ensure programs meet or exceed all expected outlined deliverables.
  12. Conduct daily pre/post operation safety inspection of program area.
  13. Participate in all grant trainings and reports to ensure full program compliance.
  14. Participate in all required and recommended Club trainings and staff meetings.
  15. Actively collaborate, provide support and resources to Club team.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Ensure a productive work environment by assisting/collaborating with all staff and volunteers.
  2. May participate in special programs and/or events.
  3. Responsible for other duties as assigned by Senior Site Manager or other supervisors.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

  1. Ability to work in a team environment.
  2. Demonstrated ability to relate with children in a Boys & Girls Club environment.
  3. Ability to deal with the general public and community organizations.
  4. Ability to organize and supervise member in a safe environment.
  5. Must have an acceptable driving record and be authorized to drive Club van.

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Experience: Minimum of one year work experience

FUNDAMENTAL RELATIONSHIPS

Maintains close daily contact with Club staff, Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information. Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, member’s parents, and others to provide a positive Club experience.
