Summer Benefit

Thanks to the generosity of hundreds of individuals and organizations in the community, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota’s Summer Benefit was a tremendous success. This year’s event, “Puttin’ on the Ritz,” celebrated Boys & Girls Club programs with the flair of the Roaring Twenties. The fundraiser was held on August 13th at the St. Cloud Civic Center and boasted delicious samplers from 15 area restaurants and caterers, as well as wine and beer tasting. Entertainment was provided by the River City Jazz Band.

This fundraiser entertained an amazing 763 attendees and net approximately $66,000 to support the important programs the Boys & Girls Club provides to nearly 6,000 registered members in the St. Cloud metro area.

“We are just overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of this community,” said Aimee Minnerath, marketing manager for the Boys & Girls Club. “We know that times are tough for everyone right now, and so the success of this fundraiser means that much more to us. It shows us how valued the Boys & Girls Club truly is to people in this area.”

Development Director Deb Nebosis agreed. “We really shook things up this year with the set up of the event, and I think that improved the energy of the evening overall. We wanted everyone to enjoy themselves immensely, all the while knowing that they were supporting a great cause.”

The board of directors and staff of the Boys & Girls Club would like to thank everyone who helped make this event an incredible success, including: event sponsors - Charter, Gray Plant Mooty and US Bank; food and beverage vendors - Appert’s Foodservice; Byerly’s; Coborn’s Catering; Creative Catering; The Good Earth Food Co-Op; Food Ecstasy; Henry’s Catering; Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites - Cafe Santa Fe and liquor services; House of Pizza; Mexican Village; The Grands at Mulligan’s; Pacific Wok Teriyaki Grill; RJ’s American Grill; Custom Catering by Short Stop; Stonehouse Tavern & Eatery; AmeriPride Linen & Apparel; Bernick’s’ C&L Distributing; Coborn’s Liquor; Cold Spring Brewing Company; Geyer Wedding & Party Store; Viking Coca-Cola & Westside Liquor Company; all corporate sponsors, everyone who purchased tickets or supported the silent auction.
