Otto Bremer Trust awards $100,000 grant to Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota
On February 25, 2016, The Otto Bremer Trust awarded Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota with a $100,000 grant. This grant will go to support the Roosevelt Boys & Girls Club’s Gym Replacement Campaign
The Roosevelt Boys & Girls Club’s gym expansion opened for programming on November 19, 2015, just 17 months after a lightning-sparked fire destroyed the Roosevelt ECFE and the gym that the Boys & Girls Club shared with the district.
The expansion includes a 5,487 square-foot gym and 1,860 square feet of program space to accommodate the building’s snow-load needs. This enables the Club to expand the Learning Center by moving the visual arts center to the expansion. The prevention center has also been expanded, and computer technology programs are now housed at the Roosevelt Club as well.
“This grant from Otto Bremer Trust is a huge help to the Boys & Girls Club in achieving our campaign goal of $1.75 million,” said Nebosis. “Otto Bremer has consistently supported the Boys & Girls Club in each of the Boys & Girls Club’s capital campaigns, as well as programmatically. In total, they have contributed more than $674,000. They are truly amazing advocates for youth in our community.”
